NIHR’s Committee on Civil and Political Rights convenes its 3rd Regular Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Civil and Political Rights convened its 3rd regular meeting under the chairpersonship of Dr. Badr Mohamed Adel and membership of Mr. Ahmed Mahdi Al-Haddad and Mrs. Widad Ridha Mousawi.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed the NIHR General Secretariat’s views referred to it upon request of the Council of Representatives regarding the Draft Law to amend the provision of Article (73) of the Penal Code issued by Decree – Law No. (15) of 1976 accompanying the Royal Decree No. (47) of 2016, as well as the Draft Law to add a new Paragraph No. (8) to Article (6) of the Decree – Law No. (17) of 1976 accompanying the Royal Decree No. (47) of 2016, where the Committee approved the NIHR General Secretariat’s views thereupon and referred them to the Chairman of the NIHR as a preliminary step to refer them to the Council of Representatives.
