The Committee on Rights and Public Freedoms holds its seventeenth meeting

The Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms at the National Institution for Human Rights held its seventeenth meeting headed by Dr. Fawzeya Saeed Al-Saleh and in the presence of Dr. Bader Muhammad Adel and Mr. Daniel Mark Cohen. The Committee began its meeting by congratulating the National Institution for Human Rights on the success of the works of the International Conference on Penal Law and Alternative Measures, and then it reviewed what had been done regarding its previous decisions and recommendations, and the actions taken therein.
During the meeting, the Committee discussed its proposals for preparing awareness programs and brochures on municipal council elections, targeting those who have the right to vote from foreign residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain so that they can cast their votes at polling stations.
The Committee has also completed studying the views of the NIHR on the draft law on domestic workers, and is currently working on adding its observations that are consistent with what the NIHR’s monitoring work in this regard.
