NIHR’s Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms Convenes its 42nd Regular Meeting

Under the leadership of Dr. Fawzia Saeed Al Saleh, the committee commenced its 42nd meeting with a review of its previous decisions and recommendations, and followed up on the results of a study that encompassed a collection of documents, laws, executive regulations, and decisions related to national legislation, and international standards and instruments concerning the rights of convicted and detained individuals. This study is part of the committee's efforts to align legislative and regulatory texts with regional and international human rights treaties and to provide necessary recommendations to enhance and protect human rights.

The committee also discussed the outcomes of a training program organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which targeted journalists and media professionals.

The meeting concluded with the committee setting a work plan aimed at continuing the institution's efforts to conduct training programs to promote a culture of human rights in society.
