NIHR’s Committee on Civil and Political Rights convenes its 20th Regular Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Civil and Political Rights convened its 20th regular meeting under the chairpersonship of Dr. Bader Mohamed Adel and membership of Mr. Ahmed Mahdi Alhaddad and Mrs. Deena Abdulrahman Alladhi.

The Committee opened its meeting by reviewing the overall resolutions and recommendations promulgated by it and the actions taken thereon by the relevant authorities during the last quarter of 2018.

The Committee also discussed the possibility of cooperating with the legislative authority in relation to examining the appropriateness of the national legislative and regulatory texts in-force in the Kingdom of Bahrain on human rights issues and examining whether they are compatible with international standards, laws and conventions relating to the protection and safeguarding of human rights, to which the Kingdom of Bahrain has already acceded and has become bound.
