Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee Holds its Second Extraordinary Meeting

The NIHR Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee hold its second extraordinary on Tuesday, 03rd June 2013 headed by Dr. Fawzeya Saed Al Saleh. The meeting, which was held at the NIHR’s headquarters in the Seef District, was attended by the Committee Members HE Dr. Mai Suleiman Al Otaibi and Mr. Abdul-Jabar Ahmed Al Tayeb.
This meeting was devoted to discussing and studying a letter received from the Supreme Council of Women (SCW) requesting the NIHR’s comments on the 3rd report of the Kingdom of Bahrain prepared by the Committee charged with the follow-up on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), whereby the SCW expressed its desire to include the NIHR in the national team concerned with updating the 3rd report of the Kingdom of Bahrain on CEDAW Convention.
The Committee approved some comments and recommendations on updating the data mentioned in the third report of Kingdom of Bahrain on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), which the NIHR will submit to Supreme Council of Women in the coming days.
