Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee holds its 24th Ordinary Meeting

The NIHR's Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee held its 24th ordinary meeting headed by of HE Dr. Mai Suleiman Al Otaibi. The meeting was held at the NIHR's headquarters in the Seef District and was attended by the Committee Members HE. Dr. Fawzeya Saed Al Saleh and HE. Dr. Badr Mohammed Adel.
The Committee completed its disucssion on the final remarks made by the Committee on Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the competent authorities expected to execute the same.
In this regard, the Committee took into account the general recommendations made by the Committee on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women regarding the provisions related to transport, residence and family provisions in the CEDAW Convention, the report prepared by the Secretariat-General on the extent of Government's consideration of the NIHR's recommendations contained in its first annual report for 2013 in the section related to CEDAW Convention. Finally, the Committee made some suggestions about this issue.
