NIHR’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities Convenes its 22nd Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities has convened its 22nd regular meeting at the NIHR headquarters in Seef district, under the chairpersonship of D. Malallah Al-Hammadi, and membership of Mrs. Hala Ramzi and D. Hooreya Hassan.
The Committee opened its agenda by reviewing the course of its recent routine visit to Britus International School, in activation of its terms of reference in visiting educational institutions, where the facilities designated for students and the educational services provided have been reviewed.
In the same context, the Committee prepared a report on the visit that included a number of observations and recommendations supporting the progress and development process for sustainable development, which will be sent to the school.
On the other hand, the Committee completed its discussions about the field visits that it will conduct shortly to the University of Bahrain and a number of social care centres and homes, to find out the extent to which everyone continues to enjoy the rights prescribed to them by law, in the context of keenness to activate the NIHR's supervisory role in the field of protection and promotion human rights.
