Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee holds its 17th Ordinary Meeting

The NIHR's Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee held its seventeenth regular meeting On Monday, 14th July headed by HE Dr. Mai Suleiman Al Otaibi. The meeting was held at the NIHR's headquarters in the Seef District and was attended by Committee Members HE. Dr. Fawzeya Saed Al Saleh and HE. Dr. Badr Mohammed Adel.
The Committee completed its discussions of the final remarks made by the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the relevant authorities expected to implement the same; especially the recommendations related to the (definition of discrimination against women), (discriminatory laws), (national mechanism to promote the advancement of women) and (temporary special measures). The Committee made some concluding observations and decided to resume discussion of the remaining issues about in its next meeting.
