NIHR's Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Holds its 3rd Regular Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights' (NIHR) Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights held its 3rd regular meeting under the chairpersonship of Mr. Farid Ghazi. The meeting was held at the NIHR's headquarters in the Seef District and was attended by Committee Members Dr. Abdulrrahman Jawaheri and Dr. Jameela Al-Sammak.
The Committee reviewed the NIHR’s opinion on the Draft Law on Domestic Workers (which was prepared in light of proposal of law submitted by the Council of Representatives) and Draft Law on issuing Attorney’s Law (which was prepared in light of proposal of law submitted by the Shura Council) and gave feedback on the two drafts as a prelude for referral to the concerned bodies in Shura Council and the Council of Representatives over the next few days. The Committee also studied a lot of recommendations on disabled persons as an outcome of Social Rights Seminar organized by the NIHR on 3 June 2015 at Al Hekma Retired Society hall. The Committee will hold its next meeting on Sunday 12 July, 2015.
