Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee Holds its 22nd Regular Meeting

The NIHR's Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee held its 22nd regular meeting headed by HE Dr. Mai Suleiman Al Otaibi. The meeting was held at the NIHR's headquarters in the Seef District and was attended by Committee Members HE. Dr. Fawzeya Saed Al Saleh and HE. Dr. Badr Mohammed Adel.
During its meeting, the Committee discussed some provisions of Decree-by-Law No. (70) of 2014 on amendment of some provisions of Decree-by-Law No. (5) of 2002 on acceding to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) to ensure the extent of conformity thereof with the provisions of the international convention. The Committee completed its discussions on the final remarks made by the Committee on Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) related to (nationality) and (labor) and the relevant authorities expected to implement the same. Finally, the Committee made some recommendations and decided to resume its discussion on the remaining recommendations in its next ordinary meeting.
