Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee held its 20th ordinary meeting

Economic, Social and Cultural Committee of the National Institution for Human Rights held its 20th ordinary meeting on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 under the chairpersonship of HE Dr. May Sulaiman Al-Otaibi, and the membership of HE Dr. Fouzia Saeed Saleh and Dr. Bader Mohammed Adel at the headquarters of the National Institution in Alseef district.
The Committee reviewed results of some of the recommendations and resolutions which reached at in the previous meetings, and resumed discussing the final observations of the committee in charge of the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) related to violence against women, trafficking, exploitation, prostitution, participation in political and public life, and human rights defenders and the relevant authorities expected to implement it.
The Committee reached a number of observations and recommendations and shall continue discussing the remaining final recommendations in the next ordinary meeting.
