NIHR’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities convenes its 28th Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities has convened its 28th regular meeting, under the chairpersonship of Dr. Malallah J. Al-Hammadi, and membership of Dr. Hooreya Abbas Hassan, at the NIHR headquarters in the Seef District.
The Committee has opened its agenda by reviewing the outcomes of the visit it has conducted to the Hidd Rehabilitation Centre for Special Needs. It also discussed the action taken with regard to its previous resolutions and recommendations.
The Committee also completed its discussions on the field visits that it will conduct during the coming period to a number of health and social care centres and homes for children, in order to determine the extent of their continued enjoyment of the rights assigned to them and stipulated in the legislation and laws concerned with the promotion and protection of human rights.
