Committee on Visiting Places of Detention and Facilities holds its tenth regular meeting

Headed by Dr. Malallah Al-Hammadi, the Committee on Visiting Places of Detention and Facilities held its tenth regular meeting at the NIHR’s headquarters in the Seef District. The Committee opened its work by reviewing what was done regarding its previous decisions and recommendations, in addition to the report related to the visit to the Psychiatric Hospital “Convicts’ Treatment Department”, and it was emphasized the importance of these bodies continuing to provide all the rights related to the prisoners undergoing treatment, and to ensure that they enjoy them in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.
The Committee also reviewed the program of its upcoming visits to correctional, rehabilitation and detention centers, health and social care homes, and workers' housing, according to the previously prepared schedule in this regard, and concluded its work by agreeing to continue intensive field visits to monitor human rights conditions.
