Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee held its 21st meeting

Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee of the National Institution for Human Rights held its 21st ordinary meeting headed by HE Dr. Fouzia Saeed Alsaleh and the membership of Dr. Bader Mohammed Adel at the headquarters of the National Institution in Alseef district.
The Committee reviewed Decree Law No. (70) for the year 2014 amending some provisions of Law No. (5) for the year 2002 to approve joining the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), where they decided to further study the decree and ascertain its extent of conformity with the provisions of the Convention in the meetings to come.
The Committee completed discussions on the final observations of the Committee concerned with the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) which is related to (civil society and non-governmental organizations), and the relevant authorities expected to implement it. The Committee reached at a number of views and proposals and shall complete discussing the rest of the recommendations in its next ordinary meeting.
