NIHR’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities Convenes its 11th Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities convened its 11^th meeting under the chairpersonship of Dr. Malallah Al-Hammadi, and membership of Mr. Daniel Cohen. The meeting was held the NIHRs’ Headquarters in the Seef District.

The Committee opened its agenda by following up on its previous resolutions and recommendations and the actions taken thereupon.

The Committee also reviewed the field visits programme that has been set for the coming period and the arrangements related to such visits, which will include public and private educational institutions, with a view to closely examining the procedures and services provided by such bodies to the individuals, and their compatibility with the basic human rights principles, within the framework of the NIHR’s oversight role over institutions affiliate to the executive authority.
