NIHR’s Committee on the Rights of People with Restricted Freedom convenes its 5th Regular Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on the Rights of People with Restricted Freedom has convened its 5th regular meeting under the chairpersonship of Dr. Hameed Ahmed Husain and membership of Mrs. Dina Abdulrahman Al-Ladhi and Dr. Fawzeya Saeed Al-Saleh, at the NIHR’s headquarters in the Seef District.
The Committee started the meeting by discussing the reports of its announced and unannounced visits conducted during August to a number of reform, rehabilitation, detention and care centers, with a view to determine the availability of fair investigation guarantees during the pre-detention investigation stage. Following this, appropriate resolutions were made.
The Committee also discussed the procedures that have been taken with regard to all its previous resolutions and recommendations and adopted its plans for announced and unannounced visits to reform, rehabilitation, detention and care centers for next September.
