Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities has convened its 43rd regular meeting, under the chairpersonship of D. Malallah J. Al-Hammadi, and membership of Mrs. Hala Ramzi Fayez, and Dr. Hooria Aldairi. The committee commenced its meeting by reviewing the results and recommendations of its previous visit reports and made the appropriate decisions.

The committee also completed its discussions on the proposed field visits to be conducted in the coming period, as part of the institution's supervisory role. Additionally, the committee followed up on the proposed visits to the Salmaniya Medical Complex, open prisons, and Wadi Al-Buhair area. Moreover, the committee proposed visiting educational institutions to introduce the role played by the National Institution in promoting and protecting human rights within the community, due to the importance of these visits in spreading awareness about human rights among students and educational bodies."
