NIHR Organises Awareness Lectures for Students of the International School of Choueifat
Within the framework of community partnership with educational institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in implementation of its strategy and action plan aimed at spreading awareness of the principles and foundations of human rights for all segments of society, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in cooperation with the International School of Choueifat, organized a number of awareness lectures for a group of middle and high school students.
The lectures were presented by Dr. Hooreya Hassan, NIHR Commissioner for Children's Rights, and a number of staff specialised in the field of human rights at the NIHR, in which they introduced the terms of reference of the NIHR Commissioner for Children's Rights, and her role to achieve further enhancement and protection of the children's rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain. They also discussed a number of topics, mainly the right to health and education, as well as an overview of the international protection of human rights, and the general concepts of international and humanitarian law for human rights.
