NIHR concludes its Training Program on International Mechanisms for Protection of Human Rights
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) concluded its 3-week training program on “International Mechanisms for the Protection of Human Rights” in English language, in cooperation with Asia and Pacific Forum (APF) on national human rights institutions, with the participation of a number of legal researchers from the public and private sectors.
The program, presented by Mrs. Lina Nasser Al-Balushi, Professor of Human Rights at the British University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, contained a number of themes, including the Concept, Characteristics and Pillars of Human Rights Principles, International Human Rights Law and International Contractual and Non-contractual Mechanisms for the Protection of Human Rights. The program also included a theoretical online course, practice and short tests.
This training programs falls under the NIHR’s strategy and action plan to raise awareness of human rights principles, identify basic international human rights conventions and mechanisms and promote constructive cooperation with the APF in the area of capacity-building and technical support.
