NIHR Organizes an Awareness Program for NCC Staff Members

18 Feb 2025

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in cooperation with the National Call Center (NCC), organized an awareness program in the field of human rights for the center's staff at NIHR headquarters. This was part of the institution's strategy and action plan to spread and enhance the culture of human rights and to educate citizens about the rights and duties guaranteed by the law, with the goal of enhancing public awareness and knowledge about human rights issues.

The program will continue until the end of the current month, with several members of the NIHR Council of Commissioners participating in its delivery. It will cover various topics aimed at enhancing capabilities and raising awareness about the importance of defending human rights and applying them in local communities.

Dr. Lulwa bint Ahmad Al Khalifa, Assistant Professor at the College of Law at the University of Bahrain, participated in delivering the first lecture, which addressed several main themes including the historical development of human rights, intellectual freedoms, and their impact on contemporary societies. She discussed how the concept of human rights has evolved over the ages and the challenges facing freedom of thought and expression.
