NIHR Organises a Workshop on Best Practices in Communicating with Children
In cooperation with the British NICO Foundation, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), organised a workshop on "Best Practices in Communicating with Children through the Complaints Receiving Mechanism", at the NIHR |Headquarters in the Seef district. The Chairman, members of the NIHR Council of Commissioners and NIHR Secretariat-General staff participated in the workshop.
The workshop was presented by a number of experts in the field of justice, judicial system, and restorative justice curricula for children in Northern Ireland, during which they discussed various topics about methods of communicating with children and appropriate language for children, in addition to listening skills, child participation, and challenges and barriers to communicating with children, as well as practical exercises to enhance the practical aspect of participants.
This lecture is based on the NIHR's keenness to raise the quality of the services it provides, especially with regard to receiving complaints related to children or providing legal assistance to them, in addition to benefiting from experiences and expertise related to the rights, opinions, and best interests of children.
