NIHR Organizes an event for Ministry of Education Scouts
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has organised in its headquarters in the Seef District a seminar entitled "The Human Rights Leader", for a group of scouts in the Scouting and Sports Education Department of the Ministry of Education, in order to introduce the NIHR's role in protecting and promoting human rights, as well as its mechanism of action.
The lecture was presented by Dr. Hooreya Hassan, NIHR Commissioner for Children’s Rights. She discussed general information about the concept of human rights and fundamental freedoms in general, and children’s rights in particular. She also held various competitions and presented a number of case studies to enhance the practical aspect of the participants.
This event falls within the NIHR's role to spread and enhance a culture of awareness of respect for human rights among members of the society, and to activate the principle of community partnership between various parties.
