NIHR receives a Group of Middle School Scouts
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) receives a group of middle school scouts on a field trip to its headquarters in the Seef District to learn about the role the institution plays in promoting and protecting children's rights.
During the visit, Dr. Hooriya Aldairi, the Child Rights Commissioner, conducted a discussion session titled "The Rights Leader." The session covered the responsibilities of the Child Rights Commissioner at NIHR and how to communicate with her. She then provided an overview of children's rights in national legislation, treaties, and international agreements, and conducted a rights-themed competition related to the topic.
The event, which was attended by 40 students, targeted various scouts from the Directorate of Physical Education, Scouting, and Guiding, affiliated with the Ministry of Education. The event included a drawing activity on children's rights to enhance the practical aspect of the participants and hone their drawing skills.
