NIHR Celebrates Bahraini Women's Day
In the presence of Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), the NIHR Secretariat-General celebrated the Bahraini Women's Day, coinciding with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebrations of this day falling on the 1st of December each year, which was designated this year under the theme "Woman in Comprehensive Development".
On this important national occasion, Al-Derazi extended his warmest congratulations and blessings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great King of the country, to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the country's great King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
During the celebration, the Chairman of the NIHR honoured the female employees of the NIHR Secretariat-General, praising their role in supporting the work of the NIHR, stressing the NIHR's full support for everything that would enhance women’s enjoyment of their rights at various levels - political, economic, social and cultural - as an essential partner in Bahraini society, side by side with men, in line with the efforts and endeavours of the Supreme Council for Women aimed at empowering Bahraini women and integrating them into comprehensive development programmes, in application of the principle of equality and non-discrimination.
