In the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Social Development, NIHR organizes a roundtable for civil society organizations
Following consultative meetings with various civil society organizations and the subsequent recommendations to address its challenges, NIHR convened a round table focusing on the Ministry of Social Development's role in supporting civil society organizations. Participating in the roundtable were representatives from civil society organizations, as well as the Chairperson and members of NIHR Commissioners, and Mrs. Amina Ibrahim Al-Jassem, Acting Director of the Department of Community Organizations at the Ministry of Social Development.
Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairperson of NIHR, inaugurated the event with remarks emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation and relationships between the institution, civil society, and the Ministry of Social Development to bolster community initiatives. He underscored the need to align the institution's role with that of civil society organizations to safeguard fundamental rights and freedoms while also fostering greater collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development. He highlighted the institution's commitment to deepening ties with civil society to achieve shared objectives.
Throughout the event, moderated by Dr. Bader Muhammad Adel, a member of the Institution’s Board of Commissioners, discussions centered on various topics concerning the work of civil society organizations, including the challenges they encounter in fulfilling their roles effectively. Issues such as dedicated funding, logistical support, legislation pertinent to civil society, and mechanisms for improved communication with the Ministry of Social Development were deliberated.
