NIHR gives a Lecture on “The Rights the Child, both boys and girls in International Human Rights Law and National Legislation”
In cooperation with Sheikha Hessa School for Girls, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organized an awareness lecture entitled “The Rights the Boy and Girl Child in International Human Law and National Legislation”, for the educational staff therein, for the purpose of disseminating the culture of human rights of children in general and the girls in particular, at the headquarters of the school in Riffa district.
Mr. Mohamed Al-Najjar, Head of the NIHR’s Legal Affairs Unit, and Mrs. Fatima Al-Tarif, Head of the NIHR’s Training and Education Unit, explained the role of the NIHR in the field of promotion and protection of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event also highlighted the main human rights divisions and the most relevant international instruments and national legislation, and gave a general explanation of the provisions and principles stipulated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Child Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
This event falls within the terms of reference of the NIHR as per its Incorporation Law, in implementation of its strategy and action plan for the years (2019-2021) and in continuation
of its vital role in the promotion and protection of human rights, through the holding of lectures and training and educational courses for all segments of society in an attempt to find out the best ways to exercise human rights and fundamental freedoms.
