NIHR Organizes a Training Event on “Civil Society Organizations and their Role in the Enhancement and Protection of Human Rights”
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organized at its headquarters in the Seef District a program on Civil Society Organizations entitled “Civil Society Organizations and their Role in the Enhancement and Protection of Human Rights. It was organized by the NIHR in cooperation with Embassy of Netherlands presented by expert in the area of Human Rights Mr. Saddam Azzam.
The event aimed to familiarize the participants with the concept, elements and components of the civil society institutions and their role in the enhancement and protection of human rights, through identifying the characteristics of civil society and communication approaches, the functions of civil society and sources of protection of the right to establish associations, the principles of the right to establish and join associations and the elements of civil society, in addition to a detailed explanation of the roles of civil society in the enhancement and protection of human rights.
