NIHR organizes a lecture in the field of Human Rights for Members of the Bahrain Bar Association
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organized a lecture titled "Human Rights in the United Nations System and the Role of National Mechanisms Concerned with Human Rights in Protecting Them: Concepts and Principles of Human Rights," targeting members of the Bahrain Bar Association. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Malallah Al-Hammadi, the head of the Detention & Facilities Visitation Committee.
The lecture covered three main topics including the general concepts of international human rights law, the obligations of the Kingdom of Bahrain arising from human rights conventions, and the role of national mechanisms in enhancing and protecting human rights.
This lecture was part of the implementation of a memorandum of cooperation recently signed between the NIHR and the Bahrain Bar Association, where the institution plans to organize a series of lectures for the association's members to enhance joint cooperation and the culture of human rights, especially in the field of law.
