NIHR organizes a Teleconference Lecture on Children’s Rights in light of Coronavirus Pandemic for Educational Staff at Shaikha Hessa Girls School
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organized a lecture on “Children’s Rights in light of the Coronavirus Pandemic” for a number of educational staff members at Shaikha Hessa Girls School via teleconference, in line with the precautionary measures taken by the State to combat the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) by avoiding gatherings and encouraging social distancing.
Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the NIHR, and Mrs. Latifa Al Jalahma, NIHR Legal Affairs and Training Director, presented a detailed explanation of the concept, divisions and characteristics of children’s rights and basic principles in international charters and conventions, as well as the role of the NIHR in the promotion and protection of human rights and the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the area of health and psychological care for children in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
This event falls within the NIHR strategy and action plan in activation of its role in the promotion and dissemination of a culture of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain in general and children’s rights in particular.
