NIHR holds a Lecture on “the Concepts of Citizenship and Human Rights” within the 2nd Package of “My Rights 2” Program
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) held a lecture entitled “the Concepts of Citizenship and Human Right” at the headquarters of the Supreme Council for Women, within the second package of the series of lectures of “My Rights 2” Program organized by the NIHR in partnership with the Supreme Council for Women, Bahrain Institute for Political Development and Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, (April – December 2018).
The lecture was presented by Dr. Marwan Al-Modras, Assistant Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Bahrain, in which he reviewed the concept and elements of citizenship, belongingness and the means to strengthen it, the basic human rights, the balance between rights and duties, political participation and factors of its success, constitutional guarantees of rights and public freedoms and the necessary guarantees for the protection of rights and freedoms.
This Program targets employees of government institutions and members of civil society organizations. It consists of 5 packages: national institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, culture of citizenship, human rights culture, rights and freedoms and constitutional and human rights skills.
