NIHR participates in the "Mohamed Fayeq (5)" workshop on the Human Rights System in Cairo.
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) participated in the "Mohamed Fayeq (5)" workshop on the "Human Rights System", represented by Ms. Marwa Ali Ahmed from the General Secretariat of the NIHR. The workshop was organized by the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions over two consecutive days in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
The workshop aimed to acquaint participants with basic information about contractual and non-contractual mechanisms, preparing reports for the contractual mechanisms "treaty bodies", human rights concepts and terminologies, the development of the international human rights system in its historical context, the 1993 Paris Principles for establishing national human rights institutions, and the genesis and evolution of national institutions and their integration with other mechanisms.
This workshop was conducted as part of the implementation of the General Assembly's resolution and the strategic and operational plans of the network to enhance and build the capacities of member institutions and all stakeholders.
