Conclusion of the technical cooperation program between the NIHR and the High Commissioner for Human Rights "Setting priorities and showing challenges to the capacity building program in the field of human rights in the kingdom"
The events of the technical cooperation program organized by the NIHR in cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the national consultations program (Setting priorities and showing challenges to the capacity building program in the field of human rights in the the Kingdom of Bahrain), concluded its activities on Tuesday morning at the Movenpick Hotel in Muharraq.
On behalf of the NIHR Chairperson and the members of the Council of Commissioners, the Vice Chairperson of the NIHR, Head of the Committee of complaints, monitoring and follow-up HE Abdullah Alderazi delivered a speech in which he said: "The technical cooperation program was a golden opportunity for all components of the Bahraini society to elevate responsibility and interact positively with each other based on trust and mutual respect out of the bottleneck created by the incidents."
He added: "We look forward to an ample future in which justice and democracy prevail and the law is enforced on every one and equal citizenship that looks forward to Bahrain to be in the forefront of countries in the region, and take advantage of the experiences that have preceded us in the application of transitional justice."
He also said: we look forward to His Majesty the King to look at the recommendations and discussions that took place between you through the four events, and also the first annual report of the institution will be issued in the coming days to be submitted to HM the King. "
HE Mr. Abdullah Alderazi expressed hope that practical steps are to be taken on the ground to deepen trust with all spectrums of the community and look forward to a prosperous future for Bahrain and for posterity to live in safety and stability instilling the principles of democracy, human rights, application of equal citizenship and achieving the state of law.
In a speech given by HE Dr. Fawzia Saleh, member of the Council of Commissioner asserted that through the discussion sessions, which was enriched over two weeks, many issues and topics important to the local scene that contribute to the development of human rights culture and promote confidence between different segments of society the sublimity of the nation.
She added: "We in the NIHR strive to achieve partnership with the competent international organizations, and also with civil society organizations so as to promote the concept of a human rights culture and implement the recommendations and proposals on the ground for the goodness, welfare and progress of our kingdom and to achieve the best level in the field of human rights. "
The program concluded with a proposal to provide technical cooperation program between the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
