The Consultative Team between NIHR and Civil Society Organizations holds its fourth meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) convened its fourth meeting of the joint working group, chaired by Eng. Ali Ahmad Alderazi, with the participation of representatives from active civil society organizations in the field of human rights, at the NIHR's headquarters.
During the meeting, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved, and the recommendations derived from the discussion session organized by the institution about supporting individuals covered by the royal pardon and the beneficiaries of alternative penalties and measures were discussed. The president of the institution emphasized the institution's commitment to addressing official entities regarding these topics, providing them with recommendations, and following up on their implementation.
The meeting also reviewed the institution's contributions to the implementation of the National Human Rights Plan for the years 2022-2026, and highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of training and education between the institution and civil society organizations. Additionally, the essential role of the institution in organizing field visits to reform and rehabilitation centers and pre-trial detention facilities was emphasized.
These meetings aim to enhance collective commitment and joint action among the concerned parties to support and implement human rights principles on the ground, thereby strengthening national efforts in this vital area. Representatives from the Bahrain Human Rights Society, the Bahrain Transparency Association, the Bahrain Human Rights Monitor, and the Manama Center for Human Rights attended the meeting.
