NIHR is receiving Deputy Director-General for MENA Region of European Union
Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received at the NIHR’s Headquarters in the Seef District Mr. Carl Hallergard, Deputy Director-General for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region at the European Department for External Action of the European Union. The meeting was attended by Mr. Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, NIHR Secretary-General.
Al-Derazi welcomed Mr. Hallergard, and gave an overview of the NIHR’s role in dealing with the human rights situation in the Kingdom of Bahrain, reviewing the NIHR strategy and action plan to promote a culture of human rights among all segments of society in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The two sides also discussed a number of issues of common interest, as well as ways to coordinate and cooperate between the NIHR and the European Union delegation.
