NIHR’s Chairperson is discussing Aspects of Cooperation with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice
Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Ms. Maria Khoury, met with Chancellor Wael Rasheed Bouallay, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf for Justice Affairs, at the Ministry’s headquarters, in order to discuss aspects of cooperation between the two sides.
Chancellor Bouallay welcomed Ms. Khoury, expressing the aspirations of the Ministry to strengthen cooperation relations with the NIHR, being one of the independent national mechanisms in the field of technical support on the rule of law and protection of human rights.
The two sides also discussed means to activate cooperation between them, especially in raising awareness with regard to alternative penalties and the NIHR’s role in making observations on the current national legislation and the draft laws referred to the legislative authority.
