NIHR delegation meets with an international law expert from Northern Ireland
A delegation of the National Institution of Human Rights, now on a visit to Northern Ireland, met international law expert and lawyer Murphy Nile, also a partner in the Kevin and Inter Foundation and Partners law firm.
During the meeting, Mr. Murphy briefed the Bahraini delegation on the evolution of the basic concepts of human rights and the history and reality of the conflict in Northern Ireland, as well as methods and solutions employed to resolve it. He touched upon the development of laws, practices and issues and noted that the main objective of the investigation was to show the truth.
The NIHR members, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, Prof. Maria Khoury, Khalid Al Shaer, Dr. Hameed Hussein, Dr. Jameela Sammak and Dr. Mona Hagras, among others, spoke about the importance of these the visit to promote a human rights culture, and to gain knowledge through the Northern Ireland experience.
The delegation also conveyed the greetings of the NIHR Chairman Dr. Abdulaziz Abul to Mr. Murphy.
Kevin and Inter Foundation and Partners Law Firm is one of the largest law firms in Northern Ireland. Mr. Nile holds a law degree from Queen's University, Belfast, and had his training at the Madden and Finance Law Firm. He has worked on many criminal trials in recent years and has defended many known ‘nationalists’.
