NIHR receives a delegation from the Arab League’s Committee of the Arab Charter on Human Rights

Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairperson of NIHR received a delegation from the Arab League’s Committee of the Arab Charter on Human Rights, led by Counselor Jaber Saleh Al Marri, the committee chairman, and in the presence of a number of members of NIHR Commissioners and the Secretary General at the institution’s headquarters in the Seef District.

At the onset of the meeting, Al-Derazi extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation, highlighting the institution's dedicated efforts in advancing and safeguarding human rights within the Kingdom of Bahrain. He elaborated on its specific mandates, objectives, operational methods, and legal framework.

Throughout the meeting, discussions centered on mutual interests and strategies to strengthen collaboration between both parties, aiming to achieve shared objectives.

The delegation, in turn, expressed appreciation for the institution's role in promoting, preserving, and advancing human rights principles. They emphasized the significance of this visit as a collaborative effort between the Human Rights Department of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the Arab Charter Committee associated with the League of Arab States, acknowledging its importance in reinforcing the values of human rights and raising awareness thereof across various levels.
