A delegation from the NIHR visits Muharraq Police Directorate
A delegation representing the NIHR Council of Commissioners, led by Dr. Mal Allah Al-Hammadi and Dr. Hooriya Al-Dairy, the children's rights commissioner, undertook a field visit to the Directorate of Police in the Governorate of Muharraq.
At the onset of the meeting, Brigadier Sultan Ahmed Al Kaabi, the Director-General of the Directorate of Police in the Governorate of Muharraq extended a warm welcome to the delegation, commending the institution's efforts in advancing its human rights agenda through its endeavors to uphold social stability. He reiterated the Directorate's dedication to fostering collaboration and coordination with the NIHR.
During the visit, the delegation received an overview of the Directorate's various departments and gained insight into its role in safeguarding the rights and obligations of pretrial detainees, along with the pertinent procedures. Additionally, they were briefed on the security and legal measures implemented by the Family and Child Protection Office to shield family members, particularly children and women, from violence. These efforts contribute to fostering stability and reassurance for victims while nurturing an environment conducive to harmony and the preservation of family unity.
