NIHR’ Receives Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Bahrain
Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairperson of the National institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received Dr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Bahrain, where the two sides reviewed a number of issues of common interest between the two countries, especially with regard to supporting and enhancing expatriate workers’ enjoyment of their rights guaranteed to them under the provisions of the Constitution and the relevant international and regional agreements.
Al-Derazi also reviewed the NIHR’s communication and follow-up with expatriate workers to find out their human rights conditions, and discussed strengthening cooperation and joint coordination to unify efforts in areas related to expatriate workers and human rights.
For his part, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the humanitarian efforts of the NIHR towards expatriate workers, praising at the same time the measures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to provide an appropriate environment for expatriate workers during Covid-19 pandemic, and the humanitarian treatment of all residents to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.
