Statement by NIHR’s Chairperson on the 24th Anniversary of the National Action Charter
On the 24th anniversary of the National Action Charter, Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), extends the highest congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This anniversary coincides with the Silver Jubilee and marks 25 years since His Majesty the King assumed the reins of power.
Alderazi emphasized that the National Action Charter serves as a crucial foundation for promoting progress and stability in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that the Charter has been a significant milestone in Bahrain's political and social history. It established the principles of democracy, popular participation, and political pluralism, thereby enhancing the values of justice, equality, and respect for human rights.
On this significant occasion, Alderazi expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the ongoing support of His Majesty the King for the work of NIHR in fostering and solidifying a culture of human rights in the community and ensuring the protection and enhancement of individual rights. He reaffirmed the institution's unwavering commitment to advancing human rights and fundamental freedoms, and its continued efforts and sincere collaboration to fulfill the objectives of the National Action Charter.
