Professional Standards Bureau of the National Security Agency Gives a Seminar at the NIHR
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Secretariat-General, in cooperation with the Professional Standards Bureau of the National Security Agency (NSA), and in the presence of Mr. Mohamed bin Rashid Al-Rumaihi, Inspector-General of the NSA, held a seminar on the Code of Conduct of NSA personnel promulgated under Resolution No. (31) of 2012. The seminar, held at the NIHR’s Training Center in the Seef District, was presented by the Professional Standards Bureau of the NSA and discussed the doctrine of the Agency that is based on spreading security and safety throughout the country, while protecting the rights and freedoms safeguarded by the Constitution and the Law.
The lecturer emphasized that the Professional Standards Bureau of the NSA was stablished under the Decree No. (28) of 2012 to supervise the values of the National Security Agency based upon the respect of public rights and freedoms, stressing that it is the duty of NSA personnel to perform their work in a manner that does not violate the provisions of the Constitution, the Law and the International Bill of Human rights. He stated that the Code was adopted as a basic training course for NSA personnel, obliging all of them to sign a document committing themselves to abide thereby.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed bin Rashid Al-Rumaihi stated that the office of the independent Inspector-General of the NSA attaches great importance to its monitoring function by following-up the commitment by the NSA personnel to the Code of Conduct, praising the role played by the NIHR in spreading and promoting the culture of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in accordance with international, regional and national human rights mechanisms under the glorious reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, may Allah protect him.
