NIHR conducts an inspection visit to the social care centre.
In line with the National Institution for Human Rights' (NIHR) mission to protecting and promoting human rights, and leveraging the authority bestowed upon it by its establishment law, a delegation from NIHR, led by Dr. Malallah Al-Hammadi, Head of the Detention and Facilities Visitation Committee, Dr. Hooriya Abbas Hassan, Child Rights Commissioner, and a representative from the General Secretariat, visited a social care centre. This visit focused on evaluating the services the centre offers and those under its jurisdiction, examining the overall conditions of both children and staff, listening to their feedback, and confirming that their rights, as assured by national and international human rights norms, are being upheld.
The delegation also toured the centre’s facilities, which include multiple buildings such as a child protection centre, a housing section, and a service building housing a clinic, visitation rooms, and dining areas.
