NIHR celebrates Bahraini Women's Day
Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), extended her greatest congratulations and blessings to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, on the occasion of Bahraini Women's Day, which Bahrain celebrates on 1 December each year, and which is celebrated this year under the theme of "Bahraini Women in the Field of Higher Education and Future Sciences".
During the celebration held by the female members of the NIHR Council of Commissioners and Secretariat General, Ms. Khoury stated that it is an important national occasion that sheds light on the most important milestone in the march of Bahraini women and their participation in national development in various aspects, expressing her deep appreciation for the great and continuous efforts of the Supreme Council of Women to support Bahraini women and involving them as major partners with men in the process of building and development of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
On this occasion, the NIHR has renewed its full support for all that would enhance women's enjoyment of their rights at political, economic, social and cultural levels as a basic partner in Bahraini society together with men in line with the efforts and endeavors of the Supreme Council for Women aiming at empowering Bahraini women and integrate them into comprehensive development programs and achieving the principle of equality and non-discrimination.
