His Excellency Chairman of the Shura Council Receives NIHR’s Annual Report
His Excellency Chairman of the Shura Council Mr. Ali Bin Saleh Al-Saleh received members of the NIHR Council of Commissioners headed by Chairperson Dr. Abdul-Aziz Hassan Abul, who presented to His Excellency the NIHR’s two annual reports for 2015 and 2016.
His Excellency Chairman of the Shura Council commended the reports’ content that documents the national human rights achievements and activities initiated by the NIHR at the local and international levels during this period, including interaction and cooperation with international organizations and bodies, which reflects the openness and transparency of the Kingdom of Bahrain in dealing with such organizations, aiming to shed light on Bahrain’s honorable record in the area of human rights and freedoms, emphasizing the Shura Council’s stand with all that would support freedoms and rights that respect the rule of law and strengthen the system of legislations and laws that guarantee the best practices in the human rights area.
His Excellency further stressed the role played by NIHR Council of Commissioners as well as the responsibilities and tasks adopted by the NIHR in terms of human rights development in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the consolidation and raising awareness of the human rights principles in the society, in a manner that reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to preserve and enshrine human rights within the context of institutional transparency, in activation of the vision of the wise leadership of His Majesty the King, may God protect him, and his guidance in this area.
