NIHR Receives Director of the Office of International Religious Freedom at the US State Department
Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), has received Mr. Daniel Nadel, Director of the Office of International Religious Freedom at the US State Department, in the presence of Mr. Daniel Cohen, member of the NIHR Council of Commissioners.
During the meeting, Al-Derazi stated that human rights and basic freedoms, including religious freedom in the Kingdom of Bahrain, are guaranteed under the constitution and relevant laws, and that the practice of religious rites takes place within the framework of ensuring public and personal freedoms and equality for all without discrimination on the grounds of race, language, religion or gender.
Al-Derazi pointed out that the NIHR is responsible for examining all issues related to the defence and protection of human rights and freedoms, including religious freedom, and ensuring its full exercise and advancement, within the framework of full care to respect all religions and references.
