21 Mar 2025

In line with its human rights and supervisory role, a delegation from the National Institution for Human Rights made an announced visit to the Rehabilitation and Reform Center for inmates in the Jau area. The purpose of the visit was to assess the inmates' conditions and their freedom to practice their religious rites.

During the visit, the delegation examined the organizational procedures that the center's management had implemented to facilitate the inmates' practice of their religious rites, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. The delegation met with several inmates who were randomly selected and listened to their feedback regarding their living conditions at the center and their freedom to practice religious rites. They also evaluated the general treatment received by the inmates and verified that the center's management had taken all necessary steps and provided the facilities needed to enable inmates to easily observe their religious rites, all within the regulations set forth by the Rehabilitation and Reform Institution Law and its implementing regulations.
