NIHR Receives the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning
Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received Ms. Fatima Ibrahim Al-Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, at the NIHR’s headquarters. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for mutual cooperation and enhancing coordination on issues of shared interest, particularly the right to adequate housing as a fundamental human right enshrined in international human rights conventions.
At the outset of the meeting, Alderazi commended the Ministry’s efforts in implementing housing programs that meet the needs of citizens. He reaffirmed the NIHR’s readiness to support these efforts in order to strengthen this right within the national human rights framework.
For her part, the Undersecretary expressed her appreciation for the NIHR’s role in the promotion and protection of human rights. She praised the existing level of cooperation between the two entities and emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to continued coordination with the Institution to support the social and economic rights of citizens.
