NIHR Participates in a Roundtable “Penal Policy on Prostitution Crimes”

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), represented by Head of Committee Affairs Unit Mr. Badee Ali Jubail and Head of Complaints and Monitoring Unit Mrs. Eman Ali Al-Abou, participated in the roundtable held by Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies on 22 December 2016 under the title of “the Penal Policy on Prostitution Crimes”, which was managed by Mrs. Leena Nasser Al-Baloushi, the crime and security specialist, with the participation of a number of judiciary, public prosecution and Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission representatives.  The roundtable dealt with the prostitution crime as the main practice which is deemed one of the forms of human trafficking related to sexual exploitation, within the framework of legal and social concept, as well as the extent of sufficiency of legal provisions to reduce such crime.  The roundtable further reviewed models of recent trends in studying the penal policy against such crime.
