NIHR participates in a Symposium of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions

Counsellor-at-law Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, Secretary-General of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), has participated with several employees of the NIHR Secretariat-General, in a symposium commemorating the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, organised by the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions, with the participation of a number of specialists and experts in the field of human rights and representatives of national institutions for human rights.

The symposium discussed the arbitrary measures the Palestinian people are subjected to in their legitimate rights guaranteed by international human rights instruments and covenants.  At the end of the symposium, a statement was issued emphasising the rejection of all attempts to derogate from the rights of the Palestinians, which were affirmed by UN resolutions, and demanded their full respect and implementation.
