NIHR and the “BFLUF” have signed a memorandum of understanding.

Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), and Mr. Yaqoob Yousif Mohammed, President of the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (BFLUF), signed a memorandum aimed at enhancing cooperation, coordination, and consultation between the two parties in areas of mutual interest. This event took place at the NIHR headquarters and was attended by several council members from both sides.

During the signing, Alderazi explained that this partnership represents an important step towards achieving productive and effective cooperation between the NIHR and the union. It also reaffirms their shared commitment to enhancing human and labor rights and building capacities to defend these rights more effectively.

For his part, Mr. Yaqoob Mohammed expressed his appreciation for this initiative, looking forward to the cooperation with NIHR as a fundamental pillar for the union in protecting labor rights, enhancing labor awareness, and improving working conditions. He also expressed his anticipation for the joint work that meets the aspirations of all workers.

It is worth noting that the MoU covers cooperation in several aspects of common interest. These include developing a joint mechanism for cooperation that enhances the role of each party and supports mutual coordination and the exchange of information. Additionally, it involves developing joint training programs to enhance cooperation in the field of information exchange, preparing reports and studies related to human rights, and working in an effective partnership that positions the institution as a link between the Free Union and the official entities, aimed at enhancing public and official awareness of human rights and labor rights in particular.
